hurricanes are possible in the area within 36
hours
Hurricane Warning
means hurricanes are expected in the area within
24 hours
| Stay tuned to radio forecasts |
| Have an emergency
kit prepared |
| Bring in and shelter lawn furniture,
trashcans or anything else that is not secured to
the ground |
| Cover all windows in your home
with shutters or plywood |
| Secure boats with extra safety
lines |
| Stay indoors and away from windows
during storms |
| Be aware that a calm period during
a hurricane is deceptive, the hurricane is not over
this is just the center of the storm. |
| Be prepared to evacuate immediately
if told to do so! |
| Keep trees and shrubbery trimmed |
