Hurricanes / Typhoons / Cyclones

Hurricane Watch means hurricanes are possible in the area within 36 hours

Hurricane Warning means hurricanes are expected in the area within 24 hours

Stay tuned to radio forecasts
Have an emergency kit prepared
Bring in and shelter lawn furniture, trashcans or anything else that is not secured to the ground
Cover all windows in your home with shutters or plywood
Secure boats with extra safety lines
Stay indoors and away from windows during storms
Be aware that a calm period during a hurricane is deceptive, the hurricane is not over this is just the center of the storm.
Be prepared to evacuate immediately if told to do so!
